The primary role of a teacher hasn’t changed over time. Learners are still guided toward new information by teachers. The complexity of the job of a teacher can be appreciated if you think of it more as a profession than a trade. Unlike centuries ago, today's teacher's responsibilities go beyond expecting students to follow their lead. As a result, teachers are expected to provide rich, customized and unique learning experiences to their students. Classroom learning is no longer the only way to learn. There is a home-based, community-based, digital and physical context to it. We no longer just rely on books and traditional teaching materials for information; information is everywhere.
